Jimmy Santiago Baca is a highly acclaimed author of twenty-four books. He writes poetry, short stories, novels, and essays. His first novel, Whispers From the Sky, was nominated for the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Fiction, and his second novel, The Vine of Death, was nominated for the California Book Award. His work has been featured in many literary journals including Crazyhorse, The Journal, Ouroboros Review, The Rumpus, and others
He has also published several chapbooks of poetry, including among other things I Will Carry You Home with Me (2007), This Book is Not For You (2008), and You Are My Bus Stop (2010).
